SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR THE 2014 GAMES
24th Annual Games
The Olympics are scheduled for 2 – 7 June. Note that this is earlier in the month than last year.

$20 Entry Fee – Unlimited events, two complimentary meals, refreshments.
Most events are for ages 50 and over.
Swimming, Track & Field, Disk Golf, and Pickleball are for ages 40 and over.
The 5K Run/Walk is for 18 and over.
QCSO Headquarters will be at the NEW Ken Anderson Academic All-American Center, Augustana College, northwest corner of the Augustana track. Events at Augustana will be held at Erickson Field and other venues as noted on the 2014 Schedule.
Note for this year: T-Shirts are $10 extra and must be pre-ordered. Only the first three (3) medals are included in the entry fee. Additional medals are $3.00 each.

Thursday, June 5
Opening Ceremony and Meal – 4:00 PM – Augustana College Center
Vendor Fair – Before and after Opening Ceremony and meal
Performing Arts – 6:00 PM – Wallenberg Hall, Augustana College
The Archery Event will be held at 8:00 AM on Saturday, June 7, 2014, at Davenport Valley Archers, Long Grove, IA. Registration deadline is Monday, June 2nd.
Literary Arts Submissions must be received in the QCSO office by 4:00 PM on Friday, May 2, 2014. Email submissions preferred. Please review formatting guidelines and judging criteria on our website – www.qcseniorolympics.org . Submissions that do not follow the guidelines may be rejected. Submissions may be received by email or hard copy this year. As of 2015, hard copy submissions will no longer be accepted. Categories are: Fiction, Non-Fiction, Poetry-Rhyming, and Poetry-Free Verse.
Arts & Crafts Submissions must be delivered to Center for Active Seniors, Inc (CASI), 1035 W Kimberly Road, Davenport, IA, on Thursday, May 22nd between the hours of 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM in the Volunteer Room. Pick up entries on Thursday, July 10th between the hours of 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM in the Volunteer Room.
Closing Ceremony and Meal on Saturday, June 7th at 4:00 PM at the Ken Anderson Academic All-American Center.
CHECK-IN/HEADQUARTERS - New Location ! ! !
Participant packets, hospitality, and pick up of all on-site medals will be at QCSO Headquarters (Ken Anderson Academic All-American Center), Augustana College, Rock Island, IL. Headquarters will be open on Friday, June 6th from 7 AM to 7 PM and Saturday, June 7th from 7 AM to 4 PM.
Medals for athletic events will be awarded to men and women in five year increments beginning at age 50 (age 40 for specific events).
Off-site event medals will be awarded at the event site.
If you earn more than three medals and choose to receive your medals, there will be a charge of $3.00 for each additional medal in excess of three.
Literary and Arts & Crafts Events medals will be awarded at the Arts Reception at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, June 4th at CASI, 1035 W Kimberly Road, Davenport IA. (3 Medal limit)
Performing Arts medals will be awarded at the competition on Thursday, June 5th, at 6:00 PM at Wallenberg Hall, Augustana College, Rock Island. (3 Medal limit)
SERVICES AT NEW OLYMPICS HEADQUARTERS (Ken Anderson Academic All-American Center)
- Packet pick-up for all events held at Augustana College
- Directions, motel and restaurant lists, and answers to questions
- Meeting and mingling with other participants
- Complimentary light refreshments
- Results, medals, and engraving
The Vendor Fair will be held on Thursday, June 5th before and after the Opening Ceremony and meal at Augustana College Center. Please come early and visit our vendors.
